Abstract:

 

Antibubble is an uncommon fluid particle which has the completely opposite structure to the soap bubble: a liquid globule is enclosed by an air film in the liquid bath. This special structure endows it with many potential applications, for instance, air lubrication, microfluidic transportation, promoting the chemical reactions, etc.


Biography:

 


Dr. SCHIED Benoit is a professor of the Faculty of Applied Sciences in the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). His research aims at improving the current expertise in different interfacial viscous flow configurations, and to make it unique in answering scientific and technological questions applying to material processing and microfluidics, which is believed today to be one of the most promising technology for pharmaceutical, chemical, biological and medical applications. His main research interests focus on the fluid physics, including microfluidic processes, surface rheology in film dynamics, material processing and falling liquid films.
